The Future of Scoliosis
Much has been learned about scoliosis in the last few years. One thing that hasn’t changed – if a scoliosis gets severe enough, severe health consequences can follow.
For years, it was thought that bracing was only for the most severe cases, and the best results one could expect were to “not let it get any worse”. Besides being bulky, difficult to use, and flat-out ugly, compliance was always a concern, especially in teenagers.
The New ScoliBrace
After years of ineffective braces, the all new ScoliBrace sets up a future of improvement, ease of use, and better health all in one.
Scoliosis is a 3-dimensional problem. The ScoliBrace handles all three dimensions – side-to-side, rotation, and stretching top-to-bottom – all at once. Most braces only deal with the side-to-side aspect and ignore the rotation and top-to-bottom stretching, which is why many braces do very little to help in the long-term.
If your child has been diagnosed with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), the ScoliBrace is a consideration. ScoliBrace is also a possibility for young adults and adults with curves between 25 and 60 degrees. We will conduct a special evaluation will determine if ScoliBrace is an appropriate option.
